Ru Cha mangrove forest, also known as Ru Cha primeval mangrove forest – is the only remaining primeval mangrove forest on Tam Giang lagoon. Perhaps the first strong impression of this mangrove forest is its unique name: Ru Cha. At first glance, the name sounds wild, but also a little mysterious and ghostly. In the local language of Hue, “roar” here means mountain forest, and “cha” is the name of a tree that grows 90% of the area here. Road to Ru Cha Hue
Located only about 15km from the center of Hue, Ru Cha mangrove forest (in Thuan Hoa village, Huong Phong commune, Huong Tra town, Hue) is not too difficult to find. Starting from the center, you just need to run along National Highway 49 towards Thuan An beach, turn left across Tam Giang Bridge through Thao Long Dam to reach Ru Cha forest. On the current roar, only Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Dap (72 years old) lives with his wife in a small house. His family has volunteered to leave the streets, return to the forest, and have been here to preserve and protect Ru Cha for more than thirty years.
